Preparedness is doing one small step at a time, until it becomes part of your way of life. I am so excited about it all. For real! Now I just pray for people to come. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Putting on a Provident Living Fair, Preparedness Fair, or whatever you want to call it, is always one of those things that you just never know how many people are going to show up. You may get 30, which I am fairly sure we will have more than that, since we have just that many people or more helping with it all, or you may get 300, which is what I am hoping and praying for.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Provident Living Circus you say? Well, I did get the idea from here, at<a href="https://preparednessmama.com/how-to-organize-a-preparedness-fair/"> Preparedness Mama</a>. I just love her stuff, ideas, and site! Well, the idea came from her, and then I ran with it. You see, my dilemma is always to figure out how to get young people and their families out to learn about living more providently, or preparing more for a disaster. Add in some fun, some challenges, some games, and some sugar (treats), and voila, you will start to get them out! Yes, we are having a Provident Living Circus!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here are what the presenters are offering: recycling and being good stewards of our Earth, upcycling old jeans, charcoal as a fuel and resource, home made salves, the summertime classroom, everything using basic bread dough, beans as inexpensive proteins, teaching your kids about money, simplifying food storage, teach one you teach generations, working from home, and possibly even using our gps on our phones. There will be samples, demonstrations, and lots of information to learn! </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">We have lined up 2 different entertainments for side show type things, one is Zumba for the family, another - well that is still waiting to be confirmed, because as usual one person backs out at the last minute, so another is hopefully stepping in to fill that role. We have a ton of games for the kiddos, even cotton candy, snow cones and treats! Just going to be a fantastic event! If you live in the area, please come!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">It will all be held outside in the parking lot, (weather permitting), under large gazebo tents, to give it the more circus appeal. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Share, tell others, or if you live elsewhere, then plan one! Even if it can teach one person, one thing, then all the work is well worth every hour, every penny, and every stress that has gone into it!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Hope to see you there!</span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1656909546291030275.post-16013152919319952302018-04-04T09:25:00.001-07:002018-04-04T09:26:33.791-07:00Preparedness Checklist<h2 style="color: #2a3753; font-family: Georgia,'Times New Roman',Times,serif; font-size-adjust: none; font-size: 14pt ! important; font-stretch: normal; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px ! important; margin-right: 0px ! important; margin-top: 0px ! important;">

A GAME OF SURVIVAL was well attended, and I think for the most part, all who attended came away having learned something! There was a little something for everyone!<br />
<br />
4th Ward came off the winner, simply because the most people came from 4th ward. We had good attendance from all of the wards within the city, but in the end, there can only be one survivor, and 4th Ward was that survivor and winner of the party!<br />

<h1>
The Family
<hr />
</h1>
<h2>
A Proclamation to the World</h2>
<h3 class="byline">
The First Presidency and Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints</h3>
<span class="dominant"><span class="drop-cap">W</span>e, the First Presidency</span>
and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a
woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s
plan for the eternal destiny of His children.<br />
<span class="dominant">All human beings</span>—male and
female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or
daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and
destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal,
mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.<br />
<span class="dominant">In the premortal realm,</span> spirit
sons and daughters knew and worshipped God as their Eternal Father and
accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and
gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately
realize their divine destiny as heirs of eternal life. The divine plan
of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the
grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it
possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for
families to be united eternally.<br />
<br />
<span class="dominant">The first commandment</span> that God
gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as
husband and wife. We declare that God’s commandment for His children to
multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare
that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be
employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and
wife.<br />
<span class="dominant">We declare</span> the means by which
mortal life is created to be divinely appointed. We affirm the sanctity
of life and of its importance in God’s eternal plan.<br />
<br />
<span class="dominant">Husband and wife</span> have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. “Children are an heritage of the Lord” (<a class="scriptureRef" href="https://www.lds.org/scriptures/ot/ps/127.3?lang=eng&clang=ara#2" target="_blank">Psalm 127:3</a>).
Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and
righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, and to
teach them to love and serve one another, observe the commandments of
God, and be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. Husbands and
wives—mothers and fathers—will be held accountable before God for the
discharge of these obligations.<br />
<br />
<span class="dominant">The family</span> is ordained of God.
Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan.
Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be
reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete
fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when
founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful
marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of
faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work,
and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to
preside over their families in love and righteousness and are
responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their
families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their
children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are
obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or
other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation. Extended
families should lend support when needed.<br />
<br />
<span class="dominant">We warn</span> that individuals who
violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who
fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable
before God. <span style="color: red;">Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will
bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold
by ancient and modern prophets.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: red;"><span class="dominant">We call upon</span> responsible citizens
and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed
to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of
society.</span><br />

This page is not sponsored by <a href="http://www.lds.org/" target="_blank">The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints</a>, but I will do my best to keep any materials posted, relevant to the teachings of this Church. We believe in being prepared for the things that life may throw our way, and hopefully the things posted here on this site, will help you do just that. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Check out the newsletters, and keep up with the events hosted within the Stake, regarding preparedness! That is the general purpose of this blog. Happy reading!</span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
